Founded by Suzie Batlle and inspired by her grandmother and her Cuban heritage, Azucar Ice Cream is located in the heart of Miami’s Little Havana neighborhood and its popularity has grown so much that the brand has expanded to Dallas, Texas as well.
Sullivan Street Bakery
Jim Lahey thought he was going to be a sculptor. After noticing he couldn't find bread in New York like the loaves he ate in Italy, he took it upon himself to recreate those loaves. In 1994, with the help of Joe Allen, Lahey opened Sullivan Street Bakery and eventually began producing bread for many of the city's best restaurants. In 2015, Lahey was the first recipient of the Outstanding Baker James Beard Award, followed in 2016 by an induction into the foundation's Who's Who in Food and Beverage America.
Mozzarita
The heart of Mozzarita comes from Vito Volpe, born and raised in a poor family of farmers from the ancient city of Conversano, Italy. It was under the loving, careful eye of his mother that Vito's passion for making cheese was born. His dream of sharing his passion for Italian handmade cheese led him to South Florida in 2005, where he established Mozzarita in Pompano Beach. His family-owned and operated cheese factory began to grow, and within five years, Mozzarita became immensely popular with specialty markets in the surrounding areas. Now, Mozzarita products can also be found on the shelves of most supermarkets in South Florida, in addition to the Loews Coral Gables Hotel.
Wynwood Brewing
Wynwood Brewing Co. is Miami's first craft production brewery. Founded by Luis Brignoni and his father, Luis "Pops" Brignoni Sr., Wynwood is deeply rooted in its founders' Puerto Rican heritage and namesake neighborhood, the Wynwood Arts District. Wynwood Brewing's beer draws inspiration from the Brignoni Family and the company's place within Miami's thriving local and international art scene. A year-round portfolio includes flagship La Rubia Blonde Ale, Laces IPA, Father Francisco, and Pop's Porter, which won a gold medal at the 2014 Great American Beer Festival Competition.
Coconut Cartel
Take a trip with every sip. Inspired by a classic Latin American cocktail - rum and coconut water - The Zig Siblings combined their namesake coconuts and rum to create the award-winning blend that is Coconut Cartel today - rum cut to proof with freshly harvested coconut water. What began as a business bringing coconuts from an island off the coast of El Salvador to the best hotels and restaurants in South Florida has now grown into an award-winning premium spirit brand that showcases Latin America and its treasure trove of flavors and cultures.
