The Secret Knock Cocktail

The Secret Knock traces its origins back to a recipe that Ben Franklin passed on to James Bowdoin in October 1763 that called for curdling whole milk for its whey and combining that with brandy and lemon juice for a variation of a "posset" and "syllabub" which were attributed to being a cold remedy. Bank & Bourbon offers our updated take on this historic cocktail with a blend of whiskies and green tea for tannins, which is then clarified, resulting in a cocktail that is refreshing, lemony, sweet, and smooth. The crystal-clear quality is attributed to a non-historic filtering method that involves straining through biodiesel filter bags, whose invention cannot be attributed to Ben Franklin.
